Few Details, But Many Witnesses to Spokane Homicide

Sunday night a man was shot and killed in Spokane outside a music venue called "The Hop!". Spokane Police have no one in custody, and were still in early phases of investigation during a press conference Monday afternoon.

Photo by Paige Browning.Major Crimes Lieutenant Mark Griffiths says there were 30-to-50 people in the business’ vicinity during the shooting at about midnight, and detectives were there interviewing witnesses within minutes.
 
Griffiths: “And there seemed to be some sort of altercation or argument or something in the parking lot that resulted in a shooting.”
 
Griffiths says the victim was shot multiple times, possibly more than 10. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday for the victim. Griffiths says there is no indication yet of a motive. Police are looking for what they believe is a single shooter, and ask any one with information to call crime check, 509-456-2233.

Sunday ,The Hop! on Monroe Street hosted an after party for rapper Messy Marv, who performed as part of his "Stop the Violence" concert tour.
 
Police spokesperson Monique Cotton says this is the 11th homicide in Spokane this year.
