Spokane Volunteer to Help in Oklahoma

By Steve Jackson

Local Red Cross officials are sending a local volunteer to help with emergency work in the aftermath of Monday's tornado in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Red Cross spokeswoman Megan Snow says they are assessing the situation to determine if any more Red Cross volunteers will be sent.
Snow: "Once we understand what those needs are well open those opportunities through our national system, and then those volunteers that are trained in certain areas will have the opportunity to apply, like if they need shelter workers or managers to help with staffing or that type of thing”.

Snow says people can make monetary donations buy visiting redcross.org, or by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a ten dollar donation to help victims of the tornado.
