Seattle Runner Recounts Marathon Bombing
By Lisa Brooks
Hundreds of Northwest runners took part in Monday's Boston Marathon. Jennifer Kapinos of Seattle ’s was one of them. She had just finished running the race and was retrieving her bag when she heard the explosion.
Kapinos: "I saw smoke, so as soon as I heard the blast I turned around and saw two plumes. I saw the first plume of smoke and then the second bomb went off, er second noise and I saw second plume of smoke”.
She says there was chaos for a couple hours and it took a while before she found her husband, but she and he are both OK.
Kapinos says if she qualifies, she would run the Boston Marathon again.
