OSU Fires Men's Basketball Coach Craig Robinson

By Rachael McDonald

Oregon State University confirmed Monday it has fired Men's Head Basketball Coach Craig Robinson. The brother of First Lady Michelle Obama was relieved of his duties, Sunday night, effective immediately.

A national search for Robinson's replacement has begun. OSU spokesman Steve Clark says "we're very appreciative of Coach Robinson for his contributions in his 6 seasons at Oregon State but again we made a decision that was really based on the best interests of our student athletes, the basketball program and the University."

In Robinson's tenure at OSU the team had 94 wins and 105 losses. Last season, the Beavers went 16 and 16.

Robinson has 3 more years left on his contract and Clark says they'll honor that. The University still owes Coach Robinson an estimated $4.2 million dollars.
