Deep in the Shed: Marcus Roberts
Two decades ago, he may have been deep in the shed, but since that time,
he's cut his way up and out. Marcus Roberts performs his iconic suite
chronicling the blues in all its form and feel. He will be joined by drummer

American Icons: Dave Brubeck and Ramsey Lewis
A smooth pairing as renowned pianists Dave Brubeck and Ramsey Lewis take
the stage for two rousing sets. The 88-year old Brubeck shows he still
is the master of the 88s on Take Five, On the Sunny Side of the Street,
and Over the Rainbow. Lewis' gospel and funk-tinged sound will lift you
out of your seat with The In Crowd, Wade in the Water and more. Wendell

The Music of Thelonious Monk
Thelonious Monk's developed his angular melodies with small bands on smaller
stages in the jazz clubs of New York City. Now, pianist Marcus Roberts
joins the 16 piece Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to re-imagine Monk
at the considerably more expansive Rose Theater. Band members offer fresh
arrangements of Monk's Epistrophy, Criss Cross and Blue Monk.

McCoy Tyner
Pianist McCoy Tyner, who helped define the sound of the John Coltrane
Quartet, invites tenor saxophonist Ravi Coltrane to join his trio to perform
Tyner's own Fly with the Wind, and Blues on the Corner and to revisit
John Coltrane's Moment's Notice. Wendell Pierce hosts.

For one night, the living luminaries of jazz gather under one roof as
the National Endowment for the Arts honors America's Jazz Masters. Hear
the words and works of this year's inductees: pianists/composer Muhal
Richard Abrams, Kenny Barron and Cedar Walton; saxophonists/composers
Bill Holman and Yusef Lateef; vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson; vocalist
Annie Ross and producer/critic George Avakian. Join us for this moment

Monty Alexander: Harlem-Kingston Express
The West Indies meet West Harlem when Jamaican-born pianist Monty Alexander
and the Harlem-Kingston Express make a stop at the House of Swing. Alexander
(who has played with
Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Brown and Sonny Rollins) brings his disparate worlds
and singular voice together to explore the 'New Calypso bebop' - called
"mento". He's joined by drummer Herlin Riley and bassist Hassan

Barry Harris Meets Hank Jones
The piano grandmasters, Barry Harris and Hank Jones meet onstage for the
first time. Jones goes solo on Polka Dots and Moonbeams. Harris joins
Jones for Satin Doll. Bassist Ray Drummond and drummer Lewis Nash complete
a two-piano quartet with I'll Remember April and Corcovado for an incredible
jazz event. Wynton Marsalis hosts.
