  Jan Munstedt, Brian Flick with Bruce Davis, Charles (Chas) Schlesinger, and Michael Patoray. Monday's Jazz host is KPBX's Jan Munstead, herself a third-generation musician with great jazz appreciation and an eclectic touch. Hosting Monday Night Jazz for over 12 years, she often features a long look at a theme or a favorite performer, or a show can take its own direction from listener requests. Friday provides the Jazz lover will hours of listening. Beginning at 1pm, Brian Flick's Jazz for a Friday Afternoon airs for three hours. After an afternoon break for news and Movies 101, our locally produced jazz shows resume at 7pm with Big Band Era Jazz, hosted by Bruce Davis and produced by Brian Flick. Bruce's personable style, encyclopedic memory and long career provide a wealth of music business anecdotes and information, and his enormous collection brings to listeners recordings from "musicians' musicians" to performers known worldwide. Bruce is one of Spokane's real treasures, and we and our audience count ourselves lucky to have him on our airwaves. From 8pm until midnight, the station's guru of multiple musical genres, Michael Patoray, takes the helm. |
