SPR Podcasts - Listen whenever you like

A podcast is an automatic audio download; all you need is your computer, an internet connection, and a podcasting application. You can download SPR's free "Pubcatcher" for PC or Mac and subscribe to KPBX and KSFC shows with one click. SPR Podcasts are also easily available with the iTunes links at left.

NEW! Receive Spokane Public Radio podcasts on your mobile phone via Mobilcast

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

  • New to podcasts? Download SPR's free Pubcatcher for PC or Mac and follow the instructions at the help page. All of SPR's podcasts are already listed, ready for you to subscribe with one click.

  • Already listening to podcasts? Copy the XML link for the podcast you want and paste it into your favorite feeder.

  • Users of iTunes can click the iTunes link next to the podcast name. If it doesn't work at first, try opening iTunes on your computer, then click again.

WHY DO I WANT TO GET PODCASTS?

No matter how much you love your radio shows, life sometimes gets in the way of hearing them. Subscribing to your programs' podcasts means every episode is automatically downloaded to your computer -- you'll never miss a broadcast again! Put it on a portable MP3 player and you can listen wherever it's convenient for you: in the car, in the yard, on the bike, in the middle of the lake....

HOW CAN I LISTEN TO THEM?

You can hear them straight from your computer, or download to a portable MP3 player. Many cell phones, digital cameras, and other common electronic devices are becoming MP3 players, too.

WHY DO THOSE LINKS BY THE PODCASTS GIVE ME AN ERROR MESSAGE?
The links are for your RSS reader to download your subcriptions. That link needs to be copied and pasted into your RSS reader, such as iTunes and Odeo. If you don't have an RSS program, download SPR's Pubcatcher for PC or Mac to get started easily.

WHY DOESN'T KPBX PODCAST ITS MUSIC SHOWS?
A podcast is an on-demand download to your personal computer, which in the recording industry's eyes is the same as distributing a copy of the music. SPR can podcast music in public domain, performed by musicians who have given their permission to distribute their recording. This is why we can podcast much of the music performed from the KPBX studio, but not much else.

ARE PODCASTS FREE?
We do not charge listeners for our podcasts, but there are costs to Spokane Public Radio in production time. If you enjoy hearing SPR podcasts, please become a member to KPBX and KSFC. Public radio members are who makes our radio programming and subsequent podcasts possible. Thank you!
